Casa Miani- Sto. Niño, home for boys gets its denomination from St. Jerome Emiliani, founder of the Somascan Fathers.
Casa Miani, as a branch of the Casa Miani Somascan Fathers Foundation Inc. started its operation in 1995 when two boys were entrusted to us by the Somascan Sisters. Immediately after, the Director, Fr. Luigi Brenna was pressed by Munting Tahanan in Balanga to accept four street teenagers, who were giving quite few problems.
This group constituted the first nucleus to which we direct our efforts. The boys were fostered in a building in the Somascan Seminary compound appropriately adapted for this purpose.
After three years of its establishment, the number of the Casa Miani boys increased.
Religious values are offered to the boys with the purpose of giving them a deeper meaning in their life.
Honestly, truth, sincerity, respect of others and their opinions, knowledge of social rules and roles, sense of responsibility, spirit of sacrifice and continuous tension towards improvement, are the basis for a constructive relationship and openness towards others.
We aim to bring the boys to a realistic knowledge of themselves and to foster a positive attitude in facing difficulties and conflicts without anxieties.
After the example of St. Jerome, we foster an integral formation of the person through an environment characterized by a family atmosphere, by a reciprocal Christian respect, and by a particular attention to the needs and qualities of each child.
We promote the physical health of needy children, developing their moral, human, Christian growth in order to prepare them to facet their life in peace with themselves and social world.
